I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the old office (the way it originally was) before dh started tearing it apart, but I wanted you to get a chance to see a small portion of the incredible office my dh built several years ago.

I loved it! It was warm and cozy and made me smile.

However, we did all this current construction (redoing the carport) so that we could turn the old office into a bedroom for the youngest two (and therefore get OUR room back!).

So with great sadness, I had to say goodbye to my favorite room in the house. Goodbye, old office (*sniffle*)..

This was dh's corner of the room.

And hello, new one!







Yes, my dh was able to dismantle all the amazing cabinets he built before, rearrange sections and cut that gorgeous countertop we had, and create these two new desk areas for us.

Are you ready for this?

Total cost: $5.00 (all he needed to buy was two new two-by-fours).

This area isn't finished, of course. He's going to try to figure out how to dismantle the top cabinets and reconfigure them as well. It will be ridiculously difficult, but once again I'm sure he will be able to do the (nearly) impossible and create a wonderful space for us.
