Had a great weekend

We took a tour of a working grist mill here in South Carolina -- how cool is that? The kids got a chance to see it in action, and then (of course!) we had to buy some grits to take home. Wow! Much better than the stuff you get in the store!

[note to my Northern readers: I am a transplanted Yankee myself. I HATED grits when I was younger, but learned to love, love, love them in college. It's all in how you cook them. If I could learn to like them, anyone can!]

So, here's the family... minus Sean, who was roaming around the blacksmith shop. My beloved is wearing his cub scout "uniform" since it was an official scout function.

And here's proof that *I* was there! (I know everyone's just been DYING to see what I look like, right?) My mom will be thrilled to see that I was wearing the shoes she bought for me this year, so I could have "happy feet" in the winter. You gotta smile... or laugh... when you see them!

And here are the kids in a log cabin. They LOVED it and wanted to know when we would be living in something like this!

Oh my gosh, thank you!

It's the shoes, isn't it? [grin]

Kristen's right: what wonderful memories you're making.

And it's so good to "see" you again. ;)

Hello Cay! I had no idea if you would remember me from Atlanta... but I smile whenever I see pictures of you, your sweet little daughter or your mom on your blog site. I think, "hey! I got to meet them!"

Still love your book, by the way!
