We have had so much fun over the summer... and have gotten so much stuff done... that I feel that I have made the right decision and spent my time wisely.
Since we last "spoke" I have gone to the National Catholic Homeschooling conference, painted a bookshelf in my kitchen that has been unfinished for as long as Thomas has been alive (thank you very much... that's over 8 years, folks!)
...painted inside of my pantry...
(OK, it's only the bottom half... shhhh... but I *did* fix the torn-up linoleum and put down new stuff)
... painted the new bookshelf my husband built for us (had to do a massive book reorganizing to fit everything in that we need for this year)
...recovered an ironing board that I got for A DOLLAR at a thrift store with fabric that I was given for free (can't beat that, can you?)
...canned SIXTY -THREE jars of strawberry jam (my family loves this stuff!)...
...painted the laundry room (and bought a Speed Queen washer and dryer set when my machines sadly bit the dust after 15+ years)...
...made a new apron...
(just trust me.. it's actually much prettier-looking in person)
...ordered all my kids' homeschooling books for the coming year...
...reorganized the bookshelves in the office...
...culled out over 300+ lbs. of clutter from our home...
...read many, many books (both for myself and for my children)
...picked blueberries...
...done yardwork...
---installed a path to our side door (thanks, Mom and Dad!)...
...and just generally kept myself busy!
I hope you all have had a fun, blessed, and productive summer as well!
