It pays to homeschool!

So I don't miss moments like this...

Christopher was sitting at the table, working on his math lesson, when he put his pencil down, looked at me like he had been really pondering something special, and then said --

"Ya know, Mom, if I had a pet dung beetle, I'd think Sisyphus would be a good name for him."

[it took me several minutes before I could stop laughing....]

That's the funniest thing! This is my first year homeschooling and right now I only have my oldest home. He's been learning about Mesopotamia and the Fertile Crescent in History/Geography and the other night a show was on the History Channel about that time and area and was just soaking it all in and adding commentary to what they were saying. It was great. :)

Thanks, Casey!

Congratulations on your first year homeschooling! Sounds like you've started with The Story of the World -- have you?

Isn't it great to watch our kids learn?

Apparently there is a genus of dung beetles called Sisyphus, so he isn't the only one to make that correlation. Very funny!
