... in getting stuff ready for this year's homeschooling. It's a fun process, but it still takes up most of my free time. Right now I am reading Teaching Tips and Techniques from MODG. I have to go back, every year, and try to teach myself (again!) why I'm doing what I'm doing... why classical education is the style we've chosen... and what my end goal is. It is so easy to lose sight of this in mid-February, when complaints are high, the weather is cold outside, and there seems to be no end in sight!
In the meantime...
I gotta admit, I had never heard of Jamie Grace before today, but she is TALENTED. Wow! I wish I had a voice like hers!
What interested me in particular, however, is this song. I think there is much to be said for reverence, awe, and just plain ol' "remember Who you're talking to" when speaking of God. That said, however, I think that too often I forget about the JOY that should be in our lives as well. We've all heard over and over again that love isn't a feeling, but who among us wouldn't be hurt if we never saw that sparkle of delight in our spouse's eyes when we entered the room?
So God bless Jamie Grace for adding some of that joy and sparkle into the equation! I think it would be impossible to watch this video and not be captivated by the joy she exudes:
