Trying not to cry

...and not succeeding very well.

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God” (Psalm 20:7).

May God have mercy on America.

Not succeeding here either...

Kristen, did you ever get the emails I sent you (in response to another comment)?

Ugh. I'm trying not to cry or give in to despair, but right now I'm just devastated. I broke down and had a good sobbing session in the kitchen, and I'm sure there will be many more to come.

Thanks for this post. I'm so surprised and disappointed by some of the reactions in the blog world. I just don't understand offering warm congratulations to someone who has cheerfully vowed to make infanticide more accessible and common. Thanks for expressing these thoughts.

I can't even make myself blog about it yet. I'm numb. I'm especially devastated that Indiana went to him. WHAT? We haven't gone blue since 1964.

We had a rough day here too!

I can't really bring myself to blog about all the thoughts swirling around in my head, and I'm sure that's how most people feel. I am devastated, scared, and sickened. The shots of people around the world cheering for the man sent chills down my spine.

Remember the scene in LORD OF THE RINGS where Pippin and Gandalf are looking over the walls of the city, watching the dark clouds roll in and waiting for the orcs to get there? Yeah, that's about how I'm feeling now.

There was one bright spot in all of this. California voted YES on Proposition 8 which is an amendment to the state constitution that defines marriage as being between one man and one women. One step at a time...
