What I'm thankful for today...

A floor full of dominoes,

homeschooling in the carport,

cuddle-time with the little ones,

Daddy working at home,

a favorite toy,

a fantastic mud puddle,

and the biggest blessing of all....

I still have my son.

Yesterday, Christopher was outside in the backyard, playing near the fence. Picture-perfect day -- clear skies, warm temperature, and tons of good stuff to play with. Then, with no warning whatsoever, a HUGE branch came crashing down right over him. I had been inside feeding Grace, when the kids came running to the door to tell me what had happened.

Oh.dear.God.

I hugged a shaking, but still fairly calm Christopher (you have to know him for that to make sense, I suppose) who looked me in the eye and said,

"It's OK, Mommy... I'm five so I knew what to do. I just had to run fast."

Here's the branch, with Christopher (ever the ham) recreating his "running away."

Thank You, Lord. Thank You for the gift of another day altogether, with all of its "ordinary-ness."

Ouiz -
wow. I am so glad that nothing terrible resulted from the new 'toy' in your backyard! Is it still in one piece?

Thanks for the reminder to enjoy the little things!

(but, why was Reilly in the carport? She looked pretty happy!)

I'm so glad he's okay! It's SO scary to face the posibility of our little ones getting hurt. I'm always asking their guardian angels to be extra watchful!

I have just been thanking God over and over again for His protection for ALL of my children.

(and SCG, I wasn't being mean... it was just a beautiful day, and the carport was the closest thing we've got to a porch.)

Tina -- Thank you for the awards... but I can't get to your website! Which one is yours?
