Feast: Our Lady of Guadalupe
I'd love to say that we've got great activities planned for today, but that's not possible this year... so we'll be celebrating by eating Mexican food this evening! Whoo hoo! (crockpot chicken tacos are a family favorite, so this will be a wonderful way to celebrate! And what could be easier? 2 packages of boneless/skinless chicken thighs, 2 cans of Rotel, and 1 package of taco seasoning, thrown into a crockpot for 6 hrs or so. Shred the chicken and serve on warm tortillas!)
Actually, I've got a wonderful coloring book that has a picture of Juan Diego in it, so if a certain little one decides to cooperate and SLEEP, I think we will have a craft session this afternoon -- coloring the picture, adding a brown construction paper tilma on top, and voila! An interactive recreation of the miracle of the tilma right before our very eyes!
However you choose to celebrate today, I hope that your family is blessed as you live out the feasts and seasons of the liturgical year!
