Stations of the Cross... updated

I moved the previous stations up to this post, so we could have them all in order.

First, our parish (unfortunately) does not have the stations in the normal church building (they are in the chapel next door, but I can count on one hand the number of times my children have actually *seen* the Stations of the Cross).

Therefore, these images are straight from the imagination of Sean, Reilly, and Kathryn.

I just gave them the titles of each and let them take it from there.

Secondly, I was so touched by the "glow" that appears in almost all of their drawings. When I asked Kathryn (age 6) what she meant by the glowing sky, she said, "well Mommy, God was there through it all, wasn't He?"

Beautifully answered, my love.

Finally, take note of Sean's image of "Jesus dies on the Cross." He is so fascinated by the image that shows up so often in paintings -- that is, that Adam's bones were under the cross at Calvary. He was NOT going to pass up an opportunity to draw that! I was also amazed that he remembered that blood and water flowed from Our Lord's side.

Thank you! They are pictures that I will cherish for a long, long, long time.

These are beautiful.

Had I thought of this years ago when mine were young (I wish I had!) I would frame them and put them up each Spring during Lent.

My kids are 16, 14 and 11 now so it wouldn't be the same. I'm really really kicking myself right now for not thinking of this 8 years ago!
