Advent Wreath

Dawn at By Sun and Candlelight had a wonderful craft (as she always does) for the Advent season -- making an Advent wreath.

I absolutely loved the idea, so I made the trek to my local craft store and got some supplies -- a wooden circle, a package of wooden stars, some glass tea light holders, and some paint (suitable for glass). I followed her basic pattern (which I loved), but I chose to paint the glass holders instead and to decorate the wooden holder with the words "rejoice" and "gaudete".

And voila! My finished project!

That wreath looks GREAT!!!!

I'm planning to do much the same, except I'm going to try to glue torn tissue paper to the votive holders (could be fun, might be a BIG mess for my and the young'uns)

I'll let you know how it turns out!

Please send me a picture when you do! (I think tissue paper would look much nicer, actually.. it would have more the look that I was trying for... See? I need you here so that you can direct me on these things!)

It really looks pretty! I can see some of what you wrote around the base but not all off it. What does it say?

I alternated the words "rejoice" with "gaudete" (Latin for "rejoice").
